The Whale Stewardship Project

Is A NOT-FOR-PROFIT WHALE RESEARCH,

PROTECTION AND EDUCATION INITIATIVE.

Beluga whales have been the focus of the Whale Stewardship Project’s research,

protection and education programs

since 1998.

The Whale Stewardship Project has documented the lives of several solitary, sociable belugas that have been found throughout Eastern Canada and as far south as Boston Harbor in the United States—

very far from their home ranges of Canada’s

St. Lawrence River or the Arctic. We call these mammals solitary because they are almost never seen with other belugas and we call them sociable because they frequently initiate close contact with humans, like boaters and swimmers.

Take some time now to discover the unique lives of these amazing white whales and the work the Whale Stewardship Project is doing on their behalf.

Working for a better world...

where whales and

humans meet.
